Entertainment Biographies

Ace-Jones Ace Jones is a Sunnyvale, California native Singer/Songwriter from Marion, Iowa. His live set consists of originals and covers that he grew up listening to ranging from pop, rock and folk, and he delivers a range from high energy to somber reflection. His Biggest influences are Andrew McMahon, Nick Torres, Matchbox 20, Blink 182, Nick Santino, Dave Smallen, Anthony Raneri and Johnny Cash.
Brazilian-Twins Brazilian 2wins is a combination of unique and talented individuals, the Brazilian 2wins have been exciting audiences worldwide with their distinctive appearance and approach to creating their own signature sound. This band features power-pop melodies, a dynamite hip hop rhythm section, funky dynamic bass lines with space on each track for improvisation and crafty solos.
David-Zollo David Zollo founded and operated the seminal, Iowa-based, roots music label Trailer Records, played keyboards and sang harmonies on many records by Nashville folk singer Todd Snider, fellow Iowan William Elliot Whitmore and Greg Brown, amongst many other artists. This year, he also formed a new band with Whitmore, guitarists Stephen Howard and Steve Doyle and Body Electric drummer Brian Cooper, called Middle Western.
GlobalDSM1 Global DSM proudly brings this interactive cultural festivity highlighting the diverse communities that make Greater Des Moines (DSM) truly global, vibrant and thriving. Attendees are invited to come, view, chant, sing, dance and celebrate. #GlobalDSM and #DSMUSA.
JoshuaSinclair3 Joshua Sinclair’s live performance creates a sound and style that is best described as “Ryan Adams meets Ed Sheeran,” using only a guitar, microphone, and a loop pedal. With songs ranging in styles from pop to alternative to crossover country, Sinclair continues to expand in his writing and conquer critics with his passionate songs of breakups, heartache and hope.
KC-Promo Kelly’s Clan revels in the traditional melodies and acoustic instrumentation of the Celtic music genre. This fun-loving band channels the communal feel of an Irish pub on raucous sing-alongs, and delivers the mellow, richly beautiful ballads and stirring rebel songs of the “auld sod.”
Parranderos-Latin-Combo Parranderos Latin Combo is a Latin music group based in DSM.  The group was recorded in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Grammy award-winning engineers Ramon Martinez and Carlos Velazquez. Exploring musical styles such as Salsa, Cumbia, Samba and more, Parranderos Latin Combo keeps Latin music alive and diverse in Iowa and beyond.
Ray-Fulcher Ray Fulcher, while a student at the University of Georgia, spent nights frequenting the Georgia Theater where he found inspiration from artists such as Luke Bryan and Eric Church to pick up the guitar and start writing songs of his own. Fulcher has spent the last several years playing live music all over the southeast and has opened for the likes of Dustin Lynch, Lee Brice, The Marshall Tucker Band and Montgomery Gentry, to name a few.
Rocky-Raccoon Rocky Raccoon was formed in 2015 as a celebration of The Beatles, and has performed extensively ever since. Rocky Raccoon honors The Beatles legacy of “Peace and Love” by using authentic vintage instruments and amplification to create the sound and image of The Beatles.
Bottle-Rockets The Bottle Rockets never did it the easy way and never compromised their sound or themselves with their punk-rock pedigrees and arena-rock energy and continued their tougher-than-Springsteen storytelling with their romantic hearts sewn bare on their denim sleeves. Always too punk for country audiences, too genuine for the smug irony of the hipster scene and too smart for the outdoor one-hitter rock festival crowd, The Bottle Rockets are truly one-of-a-kind.
Screen Shot 2017-08-03 at 9.51.44 AM The Maytags have drawn attention from many and received countless outstanding reviews over the years. Juice Magazine commented “Fast-forward to a year later and it’s clear that that band is just wildly talented, not a wild card.” Another review, from VICE, stated “The Maytags’ music swings. It differs from all of other retro offerings by its sheer vibrancy — there’s just warmth lining every note.”
Punching-Pandas The Punching Pandas are a high-energy party band playing everything from pop to funk, rock, country and all genres in between! Featuring a legendary 3-piece brass section, these all-Iowan musicians know how to throw down and boogie with the best.
Walker-McGuire Walker McGuire are brothers in spirit. Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire may not look like family or share a last name, but you wouldn’t know it by hearing them sing. Signed to BBR Music Group’s Wheelhouse Records as the new duo Walker McGuire, Jordan and Johnny take an opposites-attract approach to their music, fusing electrifying “brotherly” harmonies with a fresh new take on modern country. Rolling Stone Country lauded Walker McGuire a “Top 10 New Country Artists You Should Know” in February 2017 and their debut single “Til Tomorrow” has earned nearly 15 MILLION Spotify streams to-date as well as garnered placement on Spotify’s “Best of 2016 Hot Country” playlist.
